2026-07-03

Up to 25% of Russians surveyed would like to try the slow travel format - traveling without rush, with a longer stay in one place. This is stated in the study of the travel service "Tutu" .

"Up to a quarter of respondents would like to try such travel, although only 5% of respondents have experience with such trips. The gap between those who want to try and those who have tried is explained simply: 34% of those who have not yet tried cite limited vacation time as a major barrier. Another 23% fear that such a vacation will be boring, 18% prefer a rich program," said the experts.

Slow travel is a format of travel without rush, with longer stay in one place, deep immersion into local culture, lifestyle and atmosphere instead of visiting many cities in a short time, explained the company. According to research, audiences perceive slow travel as a format of full-fledged long travel: the average expected duration is 11 days. The majority are travel-oriented between 4 and 14 days (61%). Short format for two or three days is not associated with this style of travel - it is referred to as 11%.

Those who already have slow travel experience practiced it mainly in Russia (89%), although 33% chose foreign destinations for this purpose. 70% said that the perception of a place has changed: the main features of this format are the ability to take it easy and relax (28%), new experiences (17%) and reload (14%). Among the attractive elements of slow travel, immersion in local culture (47%), slow pace and spontaneity (31%), eco-friendly approach (23%) lead. Long residence in one place is important for 21%, rental accommodation instead of hotel - for 18%, the service reported.
