The tourist flow of foreigners to Russia in 2026 could increase by 20% compared to the previous year and reach 7 million trips. This was reported in an interview with TASS at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) by Nikita Kondratiev, director of the department of multilateral economic cooperation and special projects of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.

"We forecast up to 7 million trips. Last year it was 5.8 million," he said.

The head of the department noted that a kind of "renaissance" of inbound tourism in Russia came in 2022, when European tourists began to be replaced by travelers from the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and China.

And this is not even a renaissance, but a systemic reorientation. And changing our vision in terms of building all programs promotion, communication and logistics , - added Kondratiev.
