The State Duma of the Federal assembly of the Russian Federation proposed to reimburse travel expenses for camps for children under 12 years

Deputy of the Duma faction of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Vladimir Isakov sent a petition to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin with a proposal to introduce compensation for families with children under 12 years old for the purchase of summer vacation camp tickets in the amount of 50% to 100% of their value. 

«We consider it appropriate and necessary, in order to provide vacation and socialization of minors aged 7 to 12 years, to develop new and supplement existing federal state programs, In order to provide a real possibility of compensation for families with children, funds to ensure full summer rest for children in public health and educational camps» , the document reads.

According to the deputy, many parents, in particular raising children alone, face financial difficulties in providing employment for children during summer holidays, including at the children’s camp. The amount of compensation may range from 50% to 100% of the rest amount per child, depending on the life situation and in proportion to the income of the parents, and the right to such support may also be granted to families raising one or two children. and where the parent is the only one.

«In some regions, compensation is provided for trips to children’s camps - for many, orphans, and children from low-income families. But the amount of compensation is often symbolic. In addition, the benefit does not cover, for example, single mothers and parents whose wages are higher than the minimum wage but at risk, who also cannot afford to pay their children. Even if a child is single, in whatever region he or she lives, he or she should also have the right to rest. Otherwise, we have some children - everything, and others – nothing» , - explained TASS Isakov.
